Phytosanitary measures and international trade: the case of wood packaging material

Frontier turns to phytosanitary matters!  In this podcast, Edward Nyambok and Justin Kastner discuss the reasons for the delayed implementation of new European Union (EU) import requirements for wood packaging material used in international commerce.  Citing phytosanitary, economic, and historical perspectives, Mr. Nyambok and Dr. Kastner paint a picture of this complex issue.  In addition to providing estimates on the anticipated cost of the EU regulations for U.S. exports, Mr. Nyambok provides commentary from the perspective of Kenya and its trade relationship with the EU.
